Röyksopp, 'Happy Up Here'
  Electro lords, Röyksopp return with the positive anthem from their forthcoming album. 

 The digitally-skilled duo have two albums in the pipeline, their first work since 2005’s slightly disappointing, ‘The Understanding’ and it seems they’ve rediscovered their knack.
 The song rather evidently samples funksters, Parliament’s single, ‘Do That Stuff’ and stays true to Röyksopp’s repetitive, but catchy rhythm style.

Ridiculously positive, the prominent female vocal echoes the happy sentiment “You know I really like It/you know it makes my heart beat” as the duo’s dreamy electro vibe escalates the track to a point of musical nirvana. If ever a track echoed the sentiments of the title, this

was it as the song echoes contentment and happiness – it even begins with a chorus of laughter!

  There’s a nice fast-paced male vocal solo that slips unescorted into the song towards the end which also adds a neat touch to it. It seems Röyksopp have learned that repetition works better with a false sense of security – although staying true to their peerless digital rhythms.
 
Disco, dance and radio-friendly, the track is a mere taste of what is to come from the increasingly stellar record that will follow – Röyksopp are indeed back, sitting rather pretty, up here. 4.5/5 CM
