Ronaldo and co. make it Moodchester United
Observers of the Premier League Champions’ attempt to retain their title in the current campaign will not have overlooked the apparent transformation in Cristiano Ronaldo ’s views on hitting the back of the net for the Red Devils.

Ronaldo, upon scoring for United at the weekend against the mighty West Brom cut almost as miserable a figure as the legendary Old Trafford sulker, Dimitar Berbatov. Throw in a

week and some choice comments from ‘Calderon the Conjurer’ and suddenly upon scoring against West Ham, Ronaldo emphatically roared into life after scoring from about four yards out.
I just cannot believe the naivety of Ronaldo if he actually believes Calderon’s comments that Real Madrid had no interest in acquiring his services in the near future. Indeed if he is, as he claims to be, a fan of Madrid than he is old enough to remember the tug-of-war with fierce rivals Barcelona over Luis Figo which resulted in a pig ’s head accompanying him to the pitch, and also Zizou Zidane’s courtship from Juventus.
They were, like Ronaldo now, considered the best players in the world and Real Madrid, being the most successful side to compete in the European Cup, and boasting some of the best to ever kick a ball as past students, alongside the mountains of cash, are very attractive to any ambitious player.
Whether Sir. Alex will regret not biting Real’s hand off remains to be seen but what is clear is that the boy is having trouble descending from the clouds where Madrid ’s interest left him.
Ferguson of course has bigger problems. Can a team boasting the likes of Park Ji Sung, Darren Fletcher and Wes Brown really win the Premier League again? The problem seems to be that most Premier League rivals shut up shop against them when maybe opening up would catch them out.
