Too Pricey For Ya?!

At the risk of sounding like a tortured Manchester City fan, I say this: If Kaká is so good why doesn’t he chance his arm at City?

Modern football is about many things, most of them valid at a bureau de change, however what it also has the habit of doing is giving rise to comfort zones.

Kaká came to Milan with nothing. After six glorious years he has not a haul that includes a Scudetto, Champions ’ League, World Club Championship and several ominous individual awards. Why does he need Milan? Of course, him being quite a well-off lad anyway, shouldn ’t be overly tempted by the megabucks of Abu Dhabi, possibly the only middle-class Brazilian superstar there has or will ever be.

At 26, the lad has won virtually all he can with Milan (and may just secure that elusive UEFA Cup this season anyway!), he should be looking to challenge himself - and they don ’t come any bigger than at Eastlands. Of course if it’s the weather he’s not so partial to then maybe he will go down as just another sun show pony.

Should he come, he would be joining a club that includes compatriots Robinho and Elano (note to Milan spokesman: it takes time to build a club, not greed), and securing a League trophy may just feel that sweeter.

Another good win for Villa in a game they would have expected to take. Things don ’t get any easier for Mowbray’s basement boys.

Arsenal 1-0 Bolton Wanderers Chriso said 2-2 (0 points)

Arsenal could yet surprise us with a decent season...

Everton 2-0 Hull City Chriso said 3-0 (2 points)

I have predicted Hull’s downfall and I’m certain things are not looking great for them, though Everton are a good side.

Middlesbrough 1-1 Sunderland Chriso said 1-2 (1 point)

Southgate buys himself a little time, but he will be a nervous man.

Newcastle United 1-1 West Ham United Chriso said 2-2 (1 point)

Neither side will be too disappointed by this result. West Ham will need to hang onto Bellamy to progress.

Stoke City 0-0 Liverpool Chriso said 0-1 (1 point)

Alex Ferguson will no doubt have slept well after the weekend. Benitez needs to understand who he ’s dealing with.

What right Ledley King had to tell the team to sort itself out is anyone’s guess but Spurs are indeed in difficulty, for now. Manchester United 3-0 Chelsea Chriso said 2-1 (1 point)

A deserved win for the better side. It was not a week for away wins and Alex’s boys responded with a dominating performance.

And six points for the Red Devils. Close again.
