Did Daniel Levy mean when he said Ramos was going to take them to “the next level” that they fancied being a Championship club?

That’s why there’s little sympathy for Spurs, they are indeed the Newcastle of the South. With a record worse than Derby now, the knives are no doubt sharpening for Ramos, how he must have wished he had stayed in the comfort and sunshine of Seville.
Will Michael Owen quit International football after the latest snub from Coach Capello? His good mate Jamie Carragher did of course and we all know Owen is the sort of guy who likes to be right...

Winners and Losers

Chelsea surprise all by providing the most entertaining football of the weekend. Liverpool grab a brilliant win despite some refereeing hypocrisy over challenges. United do the biz, away at a rain-lashed Ewood Park. Bolton show they’re not just about corners and Hull City and Signing of the Season– Geovanni (free, Man City) do a proverbial urination on any hopes of a Spurs revival. Rory Delap and Stoke use their secret weapon to great effect. Pompey outclass them though. Great point for Sunderland.

Tottenham again... Fulham crash to yet another defeat and look likely for another season up against it. Everton miss the chance of a result against Newcastle and could easily have lost it too. Arsenal were outthought and outdone again. As for Man City– very unlucky as were Wigan and West Ham but losses are just that.
