Text Box: BB9 Series League Table
Who lit up the show and who couldn’t light a match...

Text Box: Series Archive
Text Box: The sort of HM you’d have in any Select BB show. Great character, always had something to say.
Text Box: King Rex ruled the roost and did well to finish 4th despite lots of haters. Entertaining throughout.
Text Box: Lisa’s mad and random anecdotes brightened up a dull house. Genuine and nice– so, so rare.
Text Box: Bex was a livewire from Day 1. Always up to something, good fun and an exhibitionist– what more?!
Text Box: Said himself he was always in scraps. Didn’t quite get his plan right, but always outspoken.
Text Box: Hard to have more of an impact in such a short time than she did. Entertainment, from arm’s length
Text Box: Mario was a classic HM but did go too far sometimes. Had he stayed longer we may have seen more.
Text Box: Mario’s fave– Mikey was as exciting as anyone left in there but got too far really.
Text Box: A BB fave– a sensitive, hunky Scouser. Dale was cleverer than he made out but a good sport.
Text Box: Good in a group situation but not so funny on his own. Nice guy but was never going to win.
Text Box: Only so low as she’s quite boring on her own but as Rex’s GF, un-missable TV for her childishness.
Text Box: BB felt like a playground when she was there but always creating something out of nothing.
Text Box: Ah Jen, the attention-seeker. Remember the painting? Tarred after Alex and deservedly so.

A Most Unworthy Winner, thanks Wales
So did she win because she was a great housemate? Did she win because she was interesting? Did she win because she was honest? Did she win because she was from Wales? The answer to all of those question is simply, No. Rachel Rice won BB9 because she gave a completely misleading account of herself in the auditions, was barely noticeable in the House and refused to be honest when questioned about her opinions. That and she was up against a really vulgar Scottish blind bloke.
The public really did back themselves into a corner this year. Complaining about the nasty housemates, voting out the interesting ones and then complaining that the show was boring after. As I have said before, unless BB amends the voting dynamics to reflect those in more popular shows– i.e. X-Factor and I’m a Celebrity, this will keep happening.
Undoubtedly the show was molded and damaged by the dodgy voting decisions made by the voters who were always going to pick the wrong winner. Mikey was by no means as Davina had the nerve to say, a “legendary housemate”, but he was a darn sight better than Rachel and Sara. But then if you leave things like this to chance, invariably the British public will let you down.
The Finale show was hindered by a monsoon and a Maysoon paying a flying visit, the latter despite walking out. It was a scandalous gaffe by BB bosses and the rain caused former housemates flying past like an Olympics 100m race. Still I’m not surprised the weather took offence to these proceedings, it was a washout and the wettest HM emerged victorious.
I’m not saying I was expecting Big Brother to roll out the likes of Alexandra and Dennis but allowing someone who walked out on the show was scandalous and insulting to those that had spent the best part of 3 months in a compound, not to mention the millions who don’t get picked to enter the house every year.
My review on the left should tell you what the BB9 final positions should have looked like, not that I’m condoning Alex’s behaviour– as no-one should have to live voluntarily with someone that volatile, but with the exception of her, the fact that the final standings read Rachel, Mikey, Sara, Rex, Darnell, Kat and Mo should show what a messed up series this really was.
Worst HM of the year goes to Mo, though Rachel weren’t far off. Biggest Gimmick to Kat, Worst Addition to the awfully ill-advised Belinda (no I’m not going to say it thrice). The addition of the first BB Couple sounded like a bad idea but the finding of Mario and Lisa changed all that. A strange series, when it was good it was enthralling, but when it was bad– the worst, ever. 6/10 CM
Text Box: The biggest gimmick and had all fooled for best part of 3 months. Not much to her underneath it.
Text Box: The worst winner since Cameron and he was a nice fella at least. Fake, utterly dull and pointless.
Text Box: Text Box: 101112131415And the rest...Text Box: Worst idea ever BB. And the snoring!
Text Box: Poor Steph, didn’t deserve to go first.
Text Box: Why did she apply? DULL as
Text Box: The Spitman, never liked him, just nasty
Text Box: Why’d he get that far? Well, Rachel won...
Text Box: Nothing wrong with her just not good TV.
